Which Activities That Support Social-Emotional Learning

Social-Emotional Learning is a set of techniques through which children and adults learn how to regulate their emotions. The purpose of (SEL) is to make people achieve their life goals, maintain positive Social Emotional Learning, and show gratitude to others.

Below are the components of SEL

Self-Management

You are capable to regulate your emotions and channel them into written directions.

Self-Awareness

As the name speaks, you are fully aware of your emotions how they affect your thinking pattern. You know your weakness, strengths and have self-confidence.

 Social Awareness

You know how to show gratitude and have empathy you can understand the emotional needs and requirements of other people in your circle. You are in a great position to recognize power dynamics in a group of people.

Relationship skills

You understand how to develop and maintain Positive Relationships with other people. Once you are aware of all these components, you can easily engage yourself in activities, which can improve the Emotional Intelligence of people.

Below are some activities to promote Social Emotional Learning

Art Trade: Making something like painting, drawing for others is a great way to encourage students to think and care about others. Ask your students to prepare a card, masterpiece, or portrait for their fellow. Sparing time for other friends and preparing something for them will strengthen the social awareness skills of the students

Paper Beads: Artists, film stars, players have something special; You can try using strips of paper, ask your students to write on every single strip. After creating a handful of roll papers students can make necklaces and banners to remind them what is different in them.

Circle of Control: Start by sharing situations on which you can or cannot control. Now create an art piece with a circle on it. Draw things or write what you cannot control outside the circle and things you can control. Ask your artists or teacher to draw something or write on the board that reminds some positive memories.

Self Portrait: Asking students to reflect on their own personality will help them to learn more about their selves Kids will be able to learn their negative points, strengths, and uniqueness. 

Gratitude: It means showing an attitude of kindness and thankfulness. Ask your children to draw something like a heart on paper and cut it in the same shape. Now present it to others, it will encourage them to show emotions of gratitude and care.

School or workplace performance

(SEL) This leads to high emotional intelligence that helps you to walk through the complexities of the school of work that leads and influence others. Several types of research indicate that being emotionally intelligent is a great personality trait and companies appreciate and hire employees who are self-aware and know how to manage their emotions.

Physical Health

If you cannot manage your emotions means, you are not capable of managing your stress as well. It could lead to severe health problems uncontrolled anxiety raises blood pressure, disturbs the immune and leads to heart attack risks. The initial step to improve emotional intelligence is to learn the ways to manage stress. Stress management is compulsory and you can learn it via SEL).
